Product Carbon Footprint

In addition to considering the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) is also increasingly coming into focus. While an LCA captures and quantifies the total environmental impacts of a product, the PCF concentrates on measuring greenhouse gas emissions, which are usually expressed in CO2 equivalents. It particularly considers the manufacturing of a product, but can also include the emissions arising from its use and disposal.

Looking at PCFs enables companies to identify products or services with a lower carbon footprint and take measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

We are currently working on determining the PCFs for our entire product portfolio. For some products, we already have detailed calculations available and for the rest, we can fall back on approximate values in order to give our customers as detailed an insight as possible. It is also important to us that by considering the PCFs, we can identify levers for saving emissions. For example, sustainably certified goods often enable a significant reduction in emissions. Therefore, we also offer our products as RSPO-certified variants.
