First Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Available
The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) originates from the growing demand for transparency and sustainability in the construction industry. It is key to meeting these specific requirements. The comprehensive document provides a detailed and independent representation of a product's environmental impacts throughout its entire life cycle.
The EPD goes beyond mere product description: it includes a holistic life cycle assessment (LCA) with all relevant assumptions, system boundaries, and scenarios, along with a clear interpretation of the results. For our customers and partners, this means that all important information they need to make informed decisions is now available at a glance.
The construction industry is one of the most important application areas for our products. We want to meet the industry's requirements and emphasize transparent communication of our environmental impacts. Together with the renowned nova Institute, which conducted the LCA for us, we worked on creating our first EPD. This was officially approved and published by the German Institute for Construction and Environment in January.
From now on, we can provide the EPD document for LIGAPHOB N 90-MB, a sodium oleate and our key product for the construction industry. The publication of our first EPD is another step in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and a transparent, environmentally conscious future. It enables us to provide our customers and partners with profound information about the environmental impacts of LIGAPHOB N 90-MB and underscores our commitment as a raw material supplier.
